I know that all of these end up being the day after [writing the first on the second and what not] but they tend to be the way I’ve started closing my nights so here we go. It was a busy work day so I didn’t really have time to write until the very end of the day. Fortunately I was ahead already which really helped. I managed to pull in another 2,000 words which puts me at just over 4,000 for the month. I’m using a website called 750words.com this year. It’s a site I found forever ago and it is there to try and help you get used to writing every single day. It’s something I very much should be using on a regular basis.
For as long as I can remember writing has been my entire life. I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have it. It means the world to me and then some. I can remember times in my life when I was angry enough to punch a wall but didn’t because the idea of hurting my hand and being unable to write was more than I could possibly bare. I need it in my life and I know, for a fact, that I’m always better when I’m writing. This is why, despite how much I might complain about the sleep or the work, I always love NaNoWriMo. I’m writing and I’m writing every day. I love it and it helps so much.
This year is a bit different because I’m writing something so different compared to what I’m used to working on. It’s realistic fiction, it’s a bit of a mystery, and it’s multiple points of view. However, I need a challenge for my fifteenth NaNoWriMo because falling into the same story over and over again isn’t going to help me grow as a writer.
The question becomes; can I continue to use 750words.com after NaNoWriMo ends and is there a version of it for editing? I have a book that I really need to finish editing.
